The Program Runs on People
Mission Meals currently runs on two people — Tony Dulaney and Caryn Stinson. That's not sustainable. For the program to grow, serve more veterans, and survive beyond any one person, we need trained kitchen volunteers who can show up and be counted on.
This isn't a once-a-year charity event. It's a weekly commitment to veterans who are depending on it. If you can give a Monday morning to something that genuinely matters, this is it.

How You Can Help
Meal Prep Volunteer
Assist with Monday morning kitchen operations — chopping, cooking, and preparing the week's meals under Tony's direction. No professional experience required; willingness to follow direction and work clean is what matters.
Commitment: Monday mornings, typically 3–4 hours. ServSafe Food Handler certification encouraged — we can help you get it.
Packaging & Labeling
Package completed meals into labeled containers with ingredient info, allergen notes, and reheating instructions. Detail-oriented work — accurate labeling matters for veterans with dietary restrictions.
Commitment: Monday mornings alongside meal prep. Can often be done independently.
Grocery Procurement
Handle the weekly grocery run — sourcing fresh ingredients from local stores per the week's menu plan. Requires reliable transportation and an eye for quality produce and proteins.
Commitment: Sunday or early Monday. Mileage can be reimbursed from program funds.
Delivery Driver
Deliver packaged meals to veterans who cannot pick up at Post 9 due to mobility limitations or other circumstances. Requires reliable transportation and a warm, respectful approach.
Commitment: Monday afternoons as needed. Not every week requires delivery.
Program Support & Admin
Help build out the program's infrastructure — intake documentation, volunteer scheduling, impact tracking, grant research, or social media. Remote-friendly roles available.
Commitment: Flexible. Particularly needed as we formalize operations for the public launch.
Ready to Volunteer?
Fill out the form and Tony will be in touch. There's no lengthy vetting process — we just want to know a bit about you and what you're available for.
ServSafe Food Handler certification is encouraged for kitchen volunteers but is not required before you start. We can walk you through getting certified.
You do not need to be a Legion member or a veteran to volunteer.

In-Kind Donations
Beyond money and time, these donations directly reduce program costs and extend our reach.
Food & Ingredients
Fresh produce, quality proteins, staples. We're always looking for grocery partnerships with local stores — Publix, Winn-Dixie, Fresh Market, local farms.
Packaging Supplies
Microwave-safe meal containers, labels, bags, wrap, and food storage supplies. Restaurant supply partnerships are especially welcome.
Kitchen Equipment
Commercial-grade prep tools, storage containers, sheet pans, cooking equipment. We're expanding the kitchen to serve 10 veterans and building our reserves.
